Trekking tours are for anyone who enjoys cycling, but isn´t into off roading nor into road cycling. On these rides we use small roads where you normally wouldn´t go on a road bike and where you won´t encounter much traffic (except the odd farmer). They are perfect for family rides but also for anyone who is new to active cycling in Spain. It is one of the best ways to soak up the Spanish landscape and just enjoy the simple pleasure of a bike ride.
1. Sit back and enjoy the ride Route: Benitachell – Jávea - Jesús Pobre – Benitachell
A scenic ride with little altitude meters and therefore a great day trip for families or MTB novices. Or just to enjoy the scenery of the hinterland of the Costa Blanca.
This routes takes off from Benitachell, which is just ten minutes from Moraira. By departing from Benitachell we leave the more busy roads behind us which makes riding more safe and relaxed. From Benitachell we follow small roads down to the coast of Jávea. From there we follow smooth (gravel) roads to the stunning village of Jesús Pobre which lies at the foot of the Montgó mountain. Jesús Pobre has a 'Riurau', a construction (see photo) which is typical for the Marina Alta. Riuraus were used in the 18th and 19th century by farmers to dry their grapes and make raisins. After we´ve circled through this village we head back to our point of departure.
