The Valencian getaway: droppin´ in the perfect combination of trails and relaxation
Great trails, good food and drinks and relaxing. Those are the key words of this MTB trail holiday. This package is for advanced XC riders and all mountain riders who want to challenge themselves on the Spanish trails and enjoy quality time after the rides.
Tailor made programme
We take you on four rides. Of course we have certain routes in mind, but we take your wishes and experience into account. The goal is to gradually build up the level over the four days.
Depending on your wishes, you can ride four consecutive days, but it is also possible to take one or more rest days in between.
Trail grade: challenging but not too crazy
A good fitness is essential as there will considerable climbing involved. As far as skills are concerned, the experienced XC rider is welcome who is ready for the next challenge. There will be technical descents, mainly due to the loose, rocky surface. However, don't expect black runs. A fully is required.

This is what we have in mind
Part of the Valencia region is La Marina, the area between Benidorm and Denia. This is divided into the Marina Alta and the Marina Baixa. Each of these parts has its own distinct surface and profile. Because of this, the Marina Alta is known as typical XC terrain with shorter climbs and descents and the Marina Baixa as a more all mountain / enduro area because of the longer and more technical climbs and descents. In order to fully enjoy the trails that the Costa Blanca offers, this four-day course takes place in both the Marina Alta (day 1 and 2, location of Moraira) and the Marina Baixa (days 3 and 4, location of Polop).
Day 1 and 2 - Let´s rock ´n roll (XC rides)
As mentioned, our base for the first two days is the coastal town of Moraira. The first ride we do here starts with a climb to the top of a hill with beautiful views over the Mediterranean Sea. We then descend for about 3 km, one of the longest continuous (off road) descents you can do here so close to the coast. The descent is not super technical but quite steep at some points. If you want to enjoy the view, you will have to stop for a while.

After the descent we ride to Gata de Gorgos where we break for lunch. After the break we go and look for the rocky trails around the village and ride the so-called circuito de Gata, a descent over terraces with some good bends and berms. We finish in Moraira again.
On day two we tackle some more technical trails, especially rockier ones. One of these is the Jacob's ladder, a staircase formed by nature that seems to have no end. When you reach the bottom you feel the hamstrings burning but the next series is already waiting. One of these is the Trialera Senija, a trail formed over the terraces typical of this part of Spain. Via a beautiful single track we end up in the Jalón valley where we have lunch.

If our legs still feel good, after lunch we ride deeper into the valley where we´ll ride a few more beautiful tracks on the flanks of the mountains. On the way back to the car we try to let our legs recover a bit so we are ready for the second block of the journey.
On both days you cover about 45 km and climb around 900 hm. At the end of day 2 we will take you to the accommodation in Polop.

Day 3 and 4 – Shake, rattle and roll (all mountain rides)
The next two days will take place in the area south of the Sierra de Bernia. Expect flowy, rocky trails built on terraces. The first day you cross the hills around the mountain village of Xirles. First there is a climb and then a series of descents on natural, rocky paths, each time around -10 to -15%. In Polop we stop for lunch and then we end the day in a mini-bike park in La Nucía where we can play on our bikes.

The last day we go a bit further south, namely towards the Puig Campana. A wide variety of trails are available here, such as the Monja and the SuperEnduro. Expect technical single tracks and rock gardens set against beautiful views of the Mediterranean and the always lovely Benidorm ;-).
You choose your accommodation
Because everyone has his or her own preference for an accommodation – from budget-friendly to luxurious – we offer this package without predetermined accommodations. Of course we are happy to help with suggestions.
In line with the structure of this package, we suggest that you spend the first nights on the coast, in Moraira. Here you will find a good selection of good quality boutique hotels.

Your guides
You will be guided by Mike, the owner of Snakebite MTB Adventures. On day two and three you have the extra assistance of Emiel.
More about Mike can be found here. Emiel, in a nutshell, loves every kind of track, as long as it is going downhill. His aim is to have fun on the bike, rather than being the fastest. And above all, sharing the beauty of riding at the Costa Blanca with others. A big bottle of Fanta Limón after his ride is essential. His motto: why choose the easy line when there´s a more ´interesting´ option available?!
Mike and Emiel are both MIAS certified mountain bike guides.
